Janet M. Fregault, 66

Fregault was a registered nurse for more than four decades.

Janet M. Fregault, of Rumford in East Providence, died on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 after a brief illness. She was 66.

She was born in Pawtucket, RI on Oct. 12, 1946, the eldest child of the late Agnes H. (Sarazin) and Roland H. Fregault and grew up in North Attleboro, Mass., where she attended Sacred Heart School.

A graduate of St. Xavier Academy in Providence, she later earned her RN degree from Pawtucket Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1968, and attended the University of Maryland. Her nursing career spanned more than 44 years, most all of it at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital, with experience in critical care nursing, oncology, and hematology.

Some of her happiest times were traveling with her family and friends to Alaska, Ireland, and the Caribbean. She was actively engaged for many years in planning the annual family reunions at West Island and will always be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins for her selfless giving and warm caring ways.

She is survived by her sister, Jeanne M. Southworth, and husband, Jeff; her brother, Roger A. Fregault and wife, Dottie, and her brother, Robert P. Fregault and wife, Denise.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Attleboro. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
