John W. Kennedy, III, 42, Dean Auto Body Manager

John W. Kennedy, III, 42 of Rumford, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, according to the Perry McStay Funeral Home.

Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Jo-Anne C. (Johnston) Kennedy of Narragansett and the late John W. Kennedy, Jr. John was the manager of Dean Auto Body and a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Norwich University.  He was very involved in youth sports and served as a coach for the Providence Capitals and a member of the Eastern Hockey Federation.

He was the devoted father of Zenas M. Kennedy.  He also leaves his two sisters, Kimberly Kennedy of San Diego and Kristen Kennedy of Seattle, WA; his companion Sheli Borges and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from Perry McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Avenue, East Providence. 

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the John W. Kennedy, III Class of 96 Memorial Scholarship Fund to be established at Norwich University, 158 Harmond Drive, Northfield, VT 05663 c/o Paul Bova.
