Larry G. Bernier, 65, Security Agent, Former Limo Driver

His calling hours are today and his funeral is Thursday, Sept. 19, from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home in Riverside.

Larry G. Bernier, of Grove Avenue, East Providence, died unexpectedly on  Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. He was 65.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Roland J. Bernier and Doris (Shaw) Bernier-Dorr, he was a lifelong resident of East Providence. 

Bernier was a security agent for APG Security of Warwick for the past year. He previously was a limousine driver for Sentinel Limousine Service for many years and a correctional officer for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections for 7 years. 

He enjoyed golfing, running, cooking and spending time with his loving family. He was a devoted father, brother and grandfather. 

Bernier was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. 

He is survived by four daughters; Michelle L. Camara of Cranston, Kimberly A. Hopkins of Gloucester, Stacey L. Slekis of Burrillville and Jenny L. Vieira of East Providence four sisters; Geraldine R. McShane of Riverside, Doris M. Boyle of Riverside, Gale A. DuBois of Riverside and Dianne L. Door of Riverside, four brothers; Philip J. Bernier of Riverside, Ronald J. Bernier of Johnston, Robert T. Bernier of Riverside and Roland R. Bernier of Warwick and nine grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joyce Lemoi. 

His funeral service will be held on Friday Sept. 20, in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, at 10 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are today, Sept. 19, from 4-8 pm.
