Laura Garcia, 89

Laura Garcia, of Hazard Avenue, died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Waterview Villa in East Providence. She was 89.

She was the wife of the late Rogerio M. Garcia. She was born in Vila da Madelena, Pico, Azores, a daughter of the late Joao and Francisca Medeiros. 

Garcia worked for several jewelry firms before retiring. She leaves two daughters, Gina DaSilva of East Providence and Madeline Viveiros of Cranston, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Emily DaCosta.  

Her funeral will be held on today, Dec. 31, at 8am from the Perry McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse Street, Providence.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
