Manuel 'Mickey' Miguel, 86

He was a water department worker before retiring; calling hours are today from 5 to 8 pm.

Manuel "Mickey" Miguel, of Stanton Ave, Riverside, East Providence, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was 86.

He was the husband of the late Cecelia (Fonseca) Miguel. Born Aug. 27, 1926, in Tiverton, he was a son of the late Manuel and Mary (Correia) Miguel Barboza.

Miguel worked for the East Providence Water Department before retiring in 1976.

He was the father of Edward Miguel of Pawtucket, Manuel Miguel Jr. of Cranston, Lorraine "Lorrie" Carbone of Providence, Ann Marie Carroll of Seekonk, Paula Wickham of Seekonk and the late Kathleen Peterson; the grandfather of 19; and great-grandfather of 6. He was also the brother of Bento "Benny" Barboza of Seekonk, and of the late Irene Andrade, and the late George, Raymond, John, Frank, Daniel and David Miguel.

His funeral will begin Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Rebello Funeral Home,  901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
