Mary Carvalho, 77, Retired Telephone Operator
Her calling hours are Monday and her funeral is Tuesday from Rebello Funeral Home in East Providence.
Mary (Arruda) Carvalho, of Chedell Avenue, East Providence, died early Thursday morning, July 18, 2013 at the Coventry Skilled Nursing Center. She was 77.
Born Feb. 27, 1936, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Barbara (Sosnoski) Arruda and step-daughter of the late Mary (daCosta Mendes) Arruda. She worked for 20 years as an operator for Verizon Telephone.
She leaves her children, Debra Capaldi of East Providence, Rev. Eugene Carvalho of East Providence and Craig M. Carvalho of Tiverton; 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Jason and Cody; her great grandson, Dante; her brother, John Arruda of East Providence, her sister, Faith Ann Arruda of Exeter; and her former husband, Eugenio Carvalho of East Providence.
Her funeral will begin Tuesday, Juy 23, at 9 am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours are on Monday, July 22, from 5-8pm.
