Paula M. (Brito) Lima, 82

She is a former employee at the Golden Crest Nursing Center.

Paula M. (Brito) Lima, of Woodward Avenue, East Providence, died at home surrounded by her family Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. She was 82.

She was the wife of Francisco Lima. Born Aug. 14, 1930, in Sao Vicente, Cape Verde Islands, she was a daughter of the late Serafim Julia Neves and Maria de Piedade Brito.

She immigrated to the United States in 1976, settling in East Providence. She retired from the Golden Crest Nursing Center after working 19 years.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, she leaves her daughter, Martina Lima Duarte and her husband Frank of East Providence and her grandchildren, Wilson and Andrea Duarte. She was the sister of Barbara Braz of East Providence, Antonia Brito of Cape Verde, Maria de Lourdes Pina of Pawtucket and of the late Adelina Maria Evora and the late Vicente Gomes. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will begin Saturday at 8 am from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street, East Providence.

Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TX 38148.
