She was the wife of Joseph E. Medeiros, her calling hours are today at Perry-McStay Funeral Home.

Sylvia L. (Pimentel) Medeiros, of East Shore Circle and formerly of Howland Avenue, East Providence, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at Miriam Hospital. She was 88.

She was the wife of Joseph E. Medeiros. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Hendriques) Pimentel.

Medeiros was a final inspector for Speidel Textron for many years before retiring.

Besides her husband she leaves one son, Michael J. Medeiros of Chicago, one sister, Constance Langevin of Pawtucket and one brother, August Pimentel of Pawtucket. She was the mother of the late Joseph E. Medeiros, Jr. and sister of the late Amelia Penna, Rose Rivet, Dolores Belanger, Joseph Pimentel and Peter Pimentel.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 am from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Martha's Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours are today from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 West Jackson Blvd. Chicago, Illinois 60607 would be appreciated.
