EP Man Arrested for Domestic Assault

East Providence Police responding to a domestic disturbance Nov. 26 heard each party accuse the other of assault, but only the woman had injuries, leading to the man's arrest.

Officers responded to the address near Pierce Memorial Field at about 2:35 p.m., where they first spoke with the man, Brian Timothy McKoy, 39, who said his girlfriend, whom he'd been seeing for two years, had gotten upset with him about multiple girls' phone numbers on his phone. The woman attacked him, he said, and he grabbed her and held her until she calmed down, according to a police report.

The woman agreed she had been upset with McKoy, but said that when she grabbed his clothes in the process of telling him to leave, he said "Don't touch my s***" and got on to her, grabbing her throat with both his hands, according to the report.

The officer observed a scratch on the woman's neck, and a small laceration on her lip. He arrested McKoy, charging him with domestic assault.
