EP Police Nab Man Stealing From Cars

East Providence Police responding to a call about a suspicious man looking in car windows on Circuit Drive arrested a 21-year-old for larceny after finding him with several items taken from a local man's van Dec. 13 at 1:19 a.m..

An officer responded to Circuit Drive, on a tip from a resident who said they saw a man in a grey and blue hooded sweatshirt walking down the street looking inside car windows. The officer found a man, later identified as Jeffrey William Ridondo, 21, of 130 Halleck Ave., East Providence, wearing a  grey and blue hooded sweatshirt, and spoke with him about where he was going, and where he had found several items he was carrying on his person.

Ridondo told the officer he was walking to his girlfriend's house, and had found the items in a dumpster on his way.

The items in question included a $30 gift card, a Dicks Awards card, a prescription card, a silver dollar pendant and a prayer card, all of which were discovered missing from a Circuit Drive residents van, which Ridondo had reportedly been inside, according to a witness. 

The officers arrested Ridondo, charging him with larceny of under $500.
