EPPD Arrest Man for Domestic Assault, Found Hiding In Home

The following information was provided by the East Providence Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Jan. 17 at 3:50 p.m., East Providence Police Officers sought Jonathan Soto, 20, at his Grosvenor Avenue area home, attempting to arrest him on a domestic assault charge.
When police arrived, however, Soto shut and locked the door on them, retreating into his home. After a few moments, officers were able to contact a woman in the home, who opened the door for them.
They asked where Soto had gone, and the woman said he might have run out the back of the home. Police searched the back of the house, locating Soto in a bedroom.
Officers arrested Soto, charging him with domestic simple assault and battery.
