A Smithfield man wanted on several arrest warrants, including two from East Providence police, was picked up on Monday afternoon, Jan. 7, on the warrants and charged with using a counterfeit prescription to try to get drugs.
Alan J. Cuthill, 26, of 22 Breezy Knoll Road, was standing on the deck of a Waterman Avenue house when a patrol officer spotted him about noon. He was arrested soon after being spotted.
Cuthill allegedly used a false prescription to attempt on Dec. 9 last year to obtain a controlled substance from the CVS Pharmacy at 640 Warren Ave. Three other felony warrants, including one issued by Superior Court, also were out on him by police in East Providence and North Providence.
The arrest report indicates Cuthill may have acquired the false prescription from someone who works at Landmark Hospital in Woonsocket.
That person was described by East Providence police in the arrest report as a participant in Cuthill’s attempt to obtain drugs fraudulently. There were no charges lodged on the so-called participant.
