Man, 57, Charged After 'Kicking' Woman, 74

East Providence police charge a resident of Harris Health Center with simple assault after he allegedly kicked a woman who did not want his hands on her legs.

An East Providence man, 57, faces a simple assault and battery charge after he allegedly kicked in the leg a fellow resident of Harris Health Center, a 74-year-old woman, after she told him to take his hands off her legs.

Christopher G. Arnold was arrested on Monday, Jan. 7, about 4:30 pm by East Providence police. Officers responded to the health center at 833 Broadway when the woman said she wanted to pursue a criminal complaint. 

A social worker at the health center reported the incident to police. Arnold allegedly has been putting his hands on the woman’s knees, legs and arms continuously when they are in the cafeteria together, according to the police report.

The woman was not injured and refused medical treatment, police said.

Arnold received a summons to appear in District Curt on Jan. 16 to face the charge.
