Man Waiting for Girlfriend at Work Wanted for Assaulting Her

When Brian Pacheco, 32, of 124 Child St., Warren, told East Providence Patrolman Ryan Vose he was waiting for his girlfriend at Shaw's Dec. 24, he neglected to mention he'd had a violent argument with her the day before.

But the officer, who was responding for a report of a restraining order violation, noted a warrant for Pacheco's arrest in connection with his girlfriend's report to police from the Dec. 23 argument in Barrington, during which he allegedly pushed her, punched her in the back and grabbed her jaw, according to Vose's report.

The argument leading to the assault stemmed from Pacheco's suspicion that the woman had begun dating his brother. She said she didn't have Pacheco's brother's number, and had never met the man.

The woman told Vose Pacheco had been texting her all day, demanding that she tell the police she was lying about the assault. She said she left work and saw his car, a silver station wagon, parked in the lot next to her car, and called police.

Vose arrested Pacheco, charging him with domestic assault.
