Weed, Hashish and Sweet Chocolate

Take a look at some of the more intriguing police reports from around the state.

‘Curvy Sweet Dark Chocolate’ Woman Charged With Prostitution

A “sweet seductive companion” was apparently not seductive enough to wiggle her way out of prostitution charges. North Kingstown, South Kingstown and East Providence police collaborated to nab the 28-year-old North Kingstown woman suspected of engaging in prostitution in her apartment. An EP detective went undercover to the woman’s apartment after police discovered her online ad – which described her as a “sweet seductive companion” and “curvy sweet dark chocolate” who exclusively catered to the “older men.” When the EP detective arrived at her home, she was reportedly not wearing pants and apologized for being naked. After police arrested her, she allegedly told them she was going to beat the charges anyway and continue to do what she was doing.

The Botwins of Showtime’s program “Weeds” may have some competition in the realm of family pot ventures. Police arrested a father-son duo on charges of growing marijuana in their home. The father allegedly head-butted an officer when police arrived, after reportedly believing he was a robber. Inside the home, police found 29 mature marijuana plants, 30 seedlings, more than four pounds of marijuana, hashish and about $3,000 in cash. According to records, it wasn’t their first run-in with the law: the 49-year-old father was charged with felony drug charges in 2008 and even served jail time. His 23-year-old son has two charges of pot possession since 2010.

An allegedly drunk Portsmouth woman found herself in handcuffs after she attempted to grab a child from a shopping cart at Newport Stop & Shop. According to witnesses, the 31-year-old woman appeared to be drunk at the grocery store and began yelling at a pair of women, saying, “I’m calling DCYF if you keep doing that to your baby.” The child was reportedly sitting in the front seat of a shopping cart. The woman then allegedly tried to grab the child from the seat and, when the mother blocked her, the woman allegedly punched the mother’s friend. During her arrest, she also allegedly sucker punched an officer.

Pharmacists Held at Needlepoint For Drugs

A Barrington man went to great lengths to get his preferred pain killer last week in Riverside. The 27-year-old man allegedly forced a Rite Aid pharmacist into a backroom using a hypodermic needle as a weapon. Details of what happened inside the store have not been released, but the man reportedly escaped the store with the pills and was intercepted by police. Officers saw the man throw away the pill bottle and then attempt to swallow the pills while sitting in some grass. When police ordered him to spit out the pills, he refused. He’s charged with robbery, kidnapping and felony assault.
