Police Called for Verbally Abusive Man, Arrest Him on Warrant

East Providence Police responded to an Eighth Street apartment Jan. 14 at 9:08 p.m. for a woman who reported her boyfriend was verbally abusive, arresting the man on an outstanding warrant.

Officers spoke with the woman, who said her boyfriend, Robert Haworth, 46, had become verbally abusive during an argument. She said she wanted him removed from the apartment.

That turned out to be an easy thing to arrange, since Hayworth was wanted on a Sixth District Court warrant for failing to appear in court on an ability to pay hearing stemming from a Dec. 18 Barrington Police charge.

The officers arrested Haworth on the warrant.
