Police, Fire Departments Want You

The East Providence Police and Fire Departments are recruiting new candidates.

Details for police officer recruitment are available online at the East Providence website. But the process starts with a Preliminary Application Form that must be submitted by next Tuesday, Feb. 26.

A Physical Agility Test then will be administered for eligible applicants at Rhode Island College on March 2. 

The fire department will be opening up recruitment in May. You also must first pass a physical test -- the Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) offered by the RI Association of Fire Chiefs.

Registration for that test will be held online until next Thursday, Feb. 28. For more information, visit the fire chiefs website.
