Police: Man Wielding Potato Robbing Rhode Island Businesses

Police are looking for a man who tried to rob two businesses while carrying a potato.

Providence, Rhode Island – Police are looking for a man used a potato to rob a laundromat.

One of the owners of the laundromat, Anna Jung, told WJAR NBC that the man entered the laundromat and said "I need the money, money." The man, who was wielding a potato, ordered Jung not to call 911.

Jung gave the man a counterfeit $20.

WJAR reported that a man with a potato also attempted and failed to rob a Shell gas station 30 minutes earlier. In that incident, workers at the gas station struggled with the man, before chasing him away with a baseball bat.

The full WJAR report is attached to this post.
