Riverside Man, 28, Charged With Drunk Driving in Barrington

The man was driving 68 in a 45 zone on Wampanoag Trail when a Barrington patrol officer pulled him over.

A Riverside man, 28, was arraigned on a drunk-driving charge in District Court last Tuesday morning, May 14, after he was pulled over by Barrington police earlier that morning.

Jason T. Black, of 28 Sherman St., East Providence, was traveling north on Wampanoag Trail in Barrington at 68 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone when a Barrington patrol officer spotted him. He was pulled over near Primrose Hill Road after swerving several times across the fog line, according to the police report.

Black reportedly was so inebriated that he didn’t where he was coming from and had difficulty speaking and balancing on both feet, the police report indicates. He apparently was not too drunk however, to refuse a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level, police said.
