Stabbing Suspect Surrenders to Police

East Providence man arraigned on charge of assault with deadly weapon after stabbing outside tavern.

A suspect turned himself over to East Providence police on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13, in connection with the stabbing of a 25-year-old man outside the East Bay Tavern on Lyon Avenue on Sunday, Nov. 11, according to WPRI TV.

Jimarl Tunstall, 41, of East Providence, is accused by police of stabbing 25-year-old Nuno Vega of Pawtucket in the parking lot outside the bar early Sunday morning.

Police said Vega was stabbed in the face and torso. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Vegan was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Vega himself faces a disorderly conduct charge after he was involved in a fight with another person before he was stabbed, according to East Providence police.

Police said Tunstall was to be arraigned Tuesday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
