Providence man arrested for soliciting child
On Dec. 26, 2013, members of the RI State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Scott A. Andriole, age 19, of 122 Eliza St., 1st floor, Providence, charging him with indecent solicitation of a child.
The arrest was the result of an investigation initiated by the State Police Computer Crimes Unit/ICAC Task Force acting on a tip that a man was asking an under-aged girl for sexually-oriented images and videos through the social media website Tagged.com.
Troopers obtained a search warrant for Andriole's residence and an arrest warrant for Andriole alleging that he was the person soliciting the juvenile for sexually-oriented images and videos. During the execution of the search warrant, investigators arrested Andriole and seized digital media from the residence.
Andriole was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court before the Honorable Magistrate Joseph P. Ippolito Jr., who set surety bail of $5,000.00 with stipulations not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18 and not to use the internet. Magistrate Ippolito ordered Andriole held as a bail violator and set a bail violation hearing date of Jan. 9, 2014.
Andriole was previously arrested by the members of the Computer Crimes Unit/ICAC Task Force in October 2012 and charged with Indecent Solicitation of a child. In that case, Andriole is alleged to have solicited a 12-year-old female to take sexually explicit photos of herself through facebook.com. Andriole was released on bail on the 2012 charge and the case is pending.
