State Trooper Log: E.P. Man Arrested, Arraigned for Child Porn Possession

This Halloween, 11 people suspected of possessing and/or transferring child porn, including an East Providence man.

Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety said members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, assisted by members of the United States Marshals Sex Offender Law Enforcement Multidisciplinary Network (SOLEMN) and the United States Secret Service made the arrests Oct. 31.

ICAC Task Force members went undercover to identify subjects involved in sharing images of child pornography on the Internet. Following their investigation, court-authorized search warrants were executed at residences throughout the state. Numerous images and videos of child pornography were located on digital media as a result of the search warrants.

Jason Martins, 30, 1 Providence Ave., East Providence was among the 11 RI State Police allege was in possession of digital media containing illegal images and videos.

Martins was arraigned on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Transfer of Child Pornography Oct. 31 at Sixth Division District Court, One Dorrance Plaza, Providence.

Martins was released on $5,000 personal recognizance with special conditions to include no contact with children under the age of 18 and no access to the Internet.
