Two E.P. Men Face Domestic-Assault Charges

East Providence police arrested two men who allegedly assaulted their wives last weekend.

Two East Providence men face domestic assault charges after altercations with their wives last weekend.

David C. Gorman, 52, of 5 Redland Ave., and Howard Brennan, 43, of 25 Claire St., were arrested and charged by East Providence police with domestic assault and battery.

Gorman allegedly punched his wife three or four times after a night out last Saturday, Jan. 19. He returned home before her because he reportedly got “enraged” after becoming upset over a conversation about him that involved several friends. When she got home, police said, he allegedly assaulted her.

She was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by East Providence EMTs for treatment of a laceration over her left eyebrow.

Brennan allegedly pushed his wife to the ground after a verbal argument about 5 pm on Jan. 18. He left their home after the incident and gave himself up to police later that day.

She reportedly suffered superficial injuries to her left elbow and left leg. She refused treatment, according to the arrest report.
