Woman, Man Charged With Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Pawtucket woman forced her way into ex-boyfriend's home, police said. E.P. man threatened another man at pizza shop.

East Providence police charged a woman and a man with simple assaults and disorderly conduct on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Alyssa Duarte, 20, of Day Street in Pawtucket, and Jarrett R. Conaty, 34, of 125 Hoppin Ave., East Providence, were arrested after incidents in the city.

Duarte allegedly forced her way into an ex-boyfriend’s home on Providence Avenue by kicking in the door, according to the arrest report. While in the home, she reportedly turned over chairs, yelled and became very belligerent, police said. They were forced to handcuff her to get her under control.

The woman refused to acknowledge the altercation with her ex-boyfriend, who told police that he broke up with her several months ago after an on-and-off relationship over the past few years. Duarte also was charged with breaking and entering for forcing her way into the house, police said.

Conaty allegedly threatened another man inside the Riverside House of Pizza on Willett Avenue, according to the police report. He placed his finger on the man’s forehead above the nose and badgered him to fight.

Conaty apparently got upset when the man would not shake his hand, police said. Why he would not shake is unknown.

A surveillance video in the pizza shop recorded Conaty’s actions, police said. He also was given a no-trespassing order for the pizza shop at the request of the owner.
