Here are five things you may want to know about in East Providence this week:

1. The League of Women Voters RI hosts two candidates’ debates in East Providence this week: Monday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 pm at the Cape Verdean Progressive Center, 329 Grosvenor Ave., for Wards 1 & 2, and Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 6 pm at the Riverside Congregational Church, 15 Oak Ave., for Wards 3 & 4.
2. The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club No. 6691 meets every Monday at 12:15 pm at Eleven Forty Nine East Restaurant, 965 Fall River Ave., Seekonk.
3. A farmers’ market runs Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 3 to 6 pm in Rumford at 20 Newman Ave.
4. The East Bay Toastmasters Club meets Thursday, Oct. 18, at 5:30 pm at 30 Alexander Ave.; it’s open to anyone who wants to improve their oral commnunication and leadership skills.
5. The Knights of Columbus in Riverside host a Family Rosary on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 pm; you do not have to be a member.
