E.P. City Council, School Committee to Meet in Joint Session

Physical condition of East Providence High School and its threatened accreditation expected to lead discussions.

The East Providence City Council and School Committee meet tonight, Sept. 24, in City Hall in a rare joint meeting to try to reach a meeting of the minds on the schools.

The meeting starts at 6:30 pm in the Council Chamber in City Hall.

Expected to lead discussions are the physical condition of the schools, especially East Providence High School, and the accreditation of the high school, which could be threatened by the repair work needed at the school.

School finances also are expected to get some attention – particularly the potential need for additional money to continue repairs at all of the city’s schools.
