You are invited to an open house at the East Providence Recreation Center late Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 25.
“It’s a good opportunity for people who have not seen it for awhile or for people who have never been a member,” said Diane Sullivan, recreation coordinator.
The open house runs from 4 to 6 pm. The recreation center is located at 100 Bullocks Point Ave. in Riverside – the same building as the East Bay Community Action Program.
“We’ve done some painting and other fix-ups,” said Sullivan. “You can enter the building from either side. Go to the basement level.”
Staff will provide a tour of the facility, including the fitness center, the new game room, and another exercise room referred to as the “Yoga room” on the second floor.
“We’ll have some refreshments and we’ll be showing off our new fall program offerings,” she said, such as the cardio/sculpt program that will meet Wednesday mornings starting Wednesday and running through Oct. 16.
Other fall programs include Hatha Yoga, line dancing, aerobics, stretch classes, bowling, karate, basketball, youth dances, indoor soccer and many more. Click here for the schedule.
The cost to join the recreation center is $50 a year for adults 18 and older and $25 a year for children. Senior citizens get a discount: $25 a year.
Fall hours starting next Monday, Sept. 30, are 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays for adults only.
