Parking Ban as Snow Heads East Providence's Way

There's a winter storm watch in effect for Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, with a possible 3-6 inches of snow forecast for East Providence, which means a parking ban for East Providence.

The parking ban will go into effect at noon Saturday, and last until further notice. Any cars parked on the street after that time, given a reasonable grace period, will be ticketed and towed to make way for plows.

But the The annual Joseph Silva Memorial Toy Drive Dinner Saturday is still on. "We are moving forward," said Toy Drive Dinner organizer Julie Silva.

Heavy snowfall is expected to begin Saturday afternoon, lasting through the night and into Sunday.
