Unofficial Results: Casey Besting Brien For Dist. 50 With Slight Majority

Incumbents Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt (D-Dist. 49), Sen. Marc Cote (D-Dist. 24) holding against challengers.

UPDATE: - 10:05 p.m.: With all precincts reporting in, the RI Secretary of State's website reports higher voter totals with Stephen Casey (Dist. 50), incumbents Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt (D-Dist. 49) and Sen. Marc Cote (D-Dist. 24) still in the lead. 

In Dist. 50, Casey has 720 votes to Jon Brien's 670.

In Dist. 49, Baldelli-Hunt has 726, Stuart Gitlow has 78 and Michael Morin has 333.

In Dist. 24, Cote has 1,298 to Lew Pryeor's 798

UPDATE - 9:21 p.m.: Final voting figures from the Woonsocket Board of Canvassers mark Stephen Casey (Dist. 50), incumbents Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt (D-Dist. 49) and Sen. Marc Cote (D-Dist. 24) the winners of tonight's primary.

Woonsocket Board of Canvassers Manager Estelle Corriveau reports the final totals, not counting mail-in ballots, as Casey with 704 and Brien with 654 for Dist. 50.

In Dist. 49, Corriveau reports Baldelli-Hunt has 681, Stuart Gitlow has 76 and Michael Morin has 308.

For Dist. 24, Cote won 1,022 votes to Lewis Pryeor's 773. 

9:00 p.m. : A meager showing of voters appear to have backed the incumbents in this evening's preliminary primary results, with the notable exception of Dist. 50 challenger Stephen Casey.

Casey appears to have bested incumbent Rep. Jon Brien (D-Dist. 50) in the primary, in a close race with 52.9 percent of the vote to Brien's 47.1 percent. Only two precincts, Bernon Heights and Woonsocket Middle School have not yet been posted to the RI Secretary of State's website.

Lisa Baldelli-Hunt is holding her own against challengers Stuart Gitlow (7.3 percent) and Michael Morin (28.5 percent) with 64.2 percent of the vote. 

Senator Marc Cote (D-Dist. 24) is also holding the line against challenger Lewis Pryeor, 60.2 percent to 39.8 percent.

I agree. I'm disappointed that she's back in her seat...where she'll sit and probably continue to do nothing. She has no "biznizz" representing this city.

The majority want Lisa BH to do nothing? Then you get what you get. Just my opinion. But I honestly feel she has done nothing substantial in her career that has benefited me. I'm proud to be in the minority of people that is tired of politics as usual.
