Believing in America: Tone Set in GOP Speeches

2012 GOP Convention in Tampa, meets as Ann Romney, the candidate's wife and Chris Christie, NJ's Governor echo themes of responsibility and commitment to America.

Tampa was the setting as the 2012 GOP Nominating Convention opened with a series of speeches from rank and file members, small business owners impacted by the failed policies of the Obama/Biden administration and elected officials.  The main speakers were the candidate's wife Ann Romney whose remarks spoke of love, hers for her husband of 43 years, and his for their family, faith and America.  Mrs. Romney was followed by the governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie.

I believed Mrs. Romney did a great job in humanizing the public personna of her husband....classy and believeable.

Mr. Christie spoke of his own family and life experiences and his support for Romney.

Wednesday, schedule features the acceptance speech of VP-nominee, Cong. Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Sadly Joe far too many people actually know far too few facts. Haven't you noticed most of the 'fact' cited here are in reality un-sourced talking points from a media that's failed miserably in presenting the American public with the truth. Most people are just too lazy when it comes to doing their own homework. Far too often they depend upon political pundits, personalities and self-serving politicians to 'educate' them as to the facts on any given issue. Few fail to realize that when they accept somebody else's 'truth' they're getting just that, somebody else's interpretation of that person's perceived reality which may or may not align with their own views. That's way the SS Trust fund is full of IOUs and not money; Because it was easier for most people to accept that claim as the truth rather than investigating the facts for themselves. This is true for most Americans despite their political bent. Our failure to heed the warning of the Founding Fathers concerning vigilance in monitoring both politicians and bankers was probably the main reason we're in the financial mess this state and nation are in.

Mr.Sluggo: It pains to say this. You'll be wasting your vote if you cast a ballot for Ron Paul. Your write in ballot will not even be looked at. You have to choose the lesser of two evils. I'll be casting my ballot for Governor Romney.
