Bleachers Moved; New EPHS Logo in Works

Townie Project takes another step toward the refurbishing of the East Providence High School gymnasium.

Bleachers donated by Providence College were partially installed in the East Providence High School gymnasium last Sunday, July 7, in the 95-degree heat – the latest step in the Townie Project that is restoring the facility.

A crew of about 12 volunteers transported the bleachers from a storage area in Riverside to the gym, according to the East Providence Post.

The new bleachers will sit on a resurfaced floor and in a completely repainted facility when the work is done. Volunteers have raised more than $75,000 to pay for the fix-up.

The facility also will sport a new logo for the center area of the basketball and volleyball court when done. A final design is in the works. See the complete story here.
