Shondra Texeira, a senior from East Providence High School, and her sister, Taylor Texeira, a freshman, have been selected as members of the 2013 Macy’s Great American Marching Band.
The sisters will join 250 of the most musically talented and accomplished high school students in the United States to perform during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Students are selected based on their musical ability and past achievements. The opportunity is open to students from more than 14,000 high schools across the United States. Since 2006, when the band was formed, more than 1,700 students have had the opportunity to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as part of the MGAMB.
