The gray, misting Saturday afternoon matched the outcome of East Providence's football games against arch-rival Barrington.
The Eagles thumped the Townies before a Homecoming crowd, 35-15, after delaying the game a day because of Friday's rain. The loss dropped the Townies' record to 0-4 on the season.
There wasn't much to cheer about for EP fans. Barrington took a 14-0 lead into halftime and then quickly tacked on another score to go up 21-0 with about 6 minutes left in the quarter.
A 56-yard TD run got the Townies on the scoreboard, but the Eagles responded with two more TDS -- one on an 18-yard run and the other on a blocked punt into the end zone to make the score 35-7.
The Townies closed out the scoring with 8 points in the final minute with a TD run and a 2-point conversion. See a few video highlights.
