Celebrate Summer's End at Labor Day Parade
City Councilor Thomas Rose Jr. has organized another parade to celebrate the end of summer in East Providence.
East Providence's second annual Labor Day parade will march through the city on Monday, Sept. 2, rain or shine.
The parade will feature bands, floats, police and fire vehicles, balloons, candy and a variety of organizations and businesses marching through the city, said City Councilor Thomas Rose Jr., who is organizing the parade.
“I wanted to end the summer with something the people can enjoy for free,” Rose said.

A highlight will be the Pink Heels fire truck, which you will be able to sign at City Hall where the parade ends. Pink Heels is a national organization with a RI chapter that travels the state promoting the need for more support for breast cancer research and its victims.
The parade starts at 10 am at East Providence High School and will march east on Waterman Avenue, through Six Corners to Taunton Avenue and end at the City Hall.
