Last Chance: Literacy Volunteer Training Starts Soon

The next training session starts March 23.

If you've ever wanted to serve as a literacy volunteer, now is your chance to join the team at Literacy Volunteers of East Bay.

The organization starts its next volunteer training series on Tuesday, March 23, at the Portsmouth Public Library. The session is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and continues that Thursday, and again on those days the following week.

The 16 hour interactive training session will teach tutoring techniques and best practices for working with adults. Upon completion, tutors are matched with an adult learner.
