EP Under New Management, Council, Neighborhood Watchers Tuesday

Interim City Manager - The EP City Council hired former City Manager Paul Lemont as Interim City Manager Friday. He starts today, after a decade away from the job he held for 14 years.

City Council Tuesday - The EP City Council meets Tuesday in Council Chambers, City Hall, 145 Taunton Ave., at 7:30 p.m. They'll consider, among other items on their agenda
  • The appointment of 

    Kevin Lewis, 196 Center St., to the 

Economic Development Commission. 

  • An amendment to city ordinances allowing appeal of sewer consumption charges.
  • An amendment to city ordinances imposing 

    a fine of $25 for a second offense, and a fine of $75 for a third and subsequent offenses for property owners bordering public spaces who do not mow grass and care for underbrush on the property.

    Neighborhood Watchers - Anyone interested in starting a neighborhood watch in their area or if you are in the RBNA area, this is where you can get information from the officials: Informationial Meeting regarding possible Neighborhood WatchTuesday, Nov. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Trinity Tabernacle Inc., Tri-Christ Multicultural Outreach Ministries.

    Food Drive underway - Oxford Tavern is running a food drive through November to benefit East Bay Community Action's food pantry program. People interested in making a donation can drop food off at the tavern, 446 Waterman Ave., Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30 to 11 p.m.


    RI Food Bank collecting Rhode Island Community Food Bank received 1,000 turkeys this week from Stop & Shop, which is delivering turkeys to food banks across the region they serve. You can help them meet their goal of collecting 350,000 pounds of food by dropping off food any weekday (except holidays) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence.
