Chilling in East Providence: Sliding High

If you're interested in a little sledding, you'll need to drive out to the Agawam Hunt Club Golf Course on North Broadway, and then do a little hiking through some snow drifts.

But when you're over the second hill in ankle-deep snow, you'll be rewarded with a sledding paradise - a steep hill bottoming out with no obstacles — unless you count your fellow sledders as obstacles.

The wind chill was expected to bring temperatures throughout the state into negative double digits, but Tom Mottur, there with his son and his friends, said the hills were probably protecting them from the worst of it. "It doesn't feel like negative 12," Mottur said.

Check out this gallery of sledders defying the cold — and gravity — Friday after the snowstorm.
