Here are some things to do in and around East Providence this weekend, Sept. 27-29.

It runs from 6 to 10 pm tonight at the Linden Place Museum at 500 Hope St. in Bristol. You can sample fine wines, distinctive beers, exceptional liquors, and delicious cuisine. The East Providence High School marching band is hosting a pasta dinner fundraiser on Saturday starting at 5 pm at the Holy Ghost Brotherhood social club – known as the Brightridge Club – at 59 Brightridge Ave. The dinner will raise funds for the band’s trip to Disney World next June. Tickets for adults are $10, school-age children can eat for $6, and children under 5 can eat for free. Click here to see the band perform at Pierce Field

The Barrington Farmers Market continues on Saturday from 9 am to noon at Barrington Congregational Church on County Road. There are always new vendors on hand with seasonal produce, breads, pastries, meats and other home-grown goods. Among the usual vendors are New Urban Farmers in Pawtucket, Aquidneck Honey in Middletown, Providence Coffee Roasters in Providence, Nettie's Kettle Corn in North Providence, Oakdale Farm in Rehoboth, and Seven Stars Bakery in Providence and East Providence.

It’s not too late to enter the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Friends of the Poor Walk/Run on Saturday morning at 10 (registration starts at 9 am) at Colt State Park in Bristol.  The 3-mile walk and 5-mile U.S.A. Track & Field-sanctioned road race will benefit Rhode Islanders who need emergency utility payments, food, clothing and shelter, along with one-on-one assistance. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization comprised of 700,000 volunteers in 140 countries.   Applications can be found at svdpri.org and online run registration can be found at lightboxreg.com. A free family fun festival with entertainment, food and activities follows the races.
