Here's What's Happening This Weekend

Start planning for your weekend with some help from East Providence Patch.

Here are several things to do in and around East Providence this weekend, Sept. 6-8.

The nonprofit Friends of the Pomham Rocks Lighthouse will hold a chowder and clam cakes fundraiser with a silent auction and raffle at Pazi’s Place, 380 Taunton Ave., on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm. You can listen to music from the ‘50s and ‘60s at the same time.

The Pomham Rocks boat and an 8-foot-high lighthouse with window cut outs will be on display in the parking lot and available for photos. Friends will also have a table of membership information and lighthouse merchandise.

The silent auction will feature tickets to the Newport Playhouse & Cabaret Restaurant, The Gamm Theatre, ferry tickets to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, a $100 gift card to Fleming’s Steakhouse and a Nantucket handbag from Barlow Designs. Raffle items include gift cards to local restaurants and Flex tickets to the Providence Bruins.

Proceeds from the event will assist the local group in restoring and preserving this New England maritime light station and East Providence landmark that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
