Providence Man Dumps Heroin on Highway While Chased by Police
In the bag found in an embankment off I-195 East, police allegedly found 1,000 waxed paper packets of heroin thats equal to $2,800.
A man transporting over 1,000 packets of heroine in a minivan on I-195 East was charged with drug possession after he allegedly tried to dump the evidence out the window. On March 7, at approximately 2 p.m., Sgt. Diogo Mello of the East Providence Police Department attempted to pull over a Honda Odessey with an improperly attached temporary license plate. After he attempted to stop the vehicle in a marked police cruiser, the driver, Jeffier Vargas, 23, kept driving on I-195 East. Just before crossing into Massachusetts, the Providence resident reportedly dumped a black bag out the passenger side window that rolled down an embankment.
