Riverside Man, 28, Charged With Drunk Driving in Barrington

The man was driving 68 in a 45 zone on Wampanoag Trail when a Barrington patrol officer pulled him over.

A Riverside man, 28, was arraigned on a drunk-driving charge in District Court last Tuesday morning, May 14, after he was pulled over by Barrington police earlier that morning. Jason T. Black, of 28 Sherman St., East Providence, was traveling north on Wampanoag Trail in Barrington at 68 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone when a Barrington patrol officer spotted him. He was pulled over near Primrose Hill Road after swerving several times across the fog line, according to the police report.  Black reportedly was so inebriated that he didn’t where he was coming from and had difficulty speaking and balancing on both feet, the police report indicates. He apparently was not too drunk however, to refuse a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol…

E.P. Man, 24, Picked Up on Warrant

Barrington police picked up Cory Dellefemine of Pine Crest Drive while he was driving around town with three friends early last Thursday morning.

An East Providence man, 24, was picked up by Barrington police on a Seekonk arrest warrant while driving around Barrington early last Thursday morning, Feb. 28. If driving around Barrington at around 2:20 am wasn’t enough to catch the attention of a patrol officer, throwing suspected marijuana cigarettes out the window certainly caught the officer's eye.  A busted rear taillight on the vehicle didn’t help matters.  Cory M. Dellefemine, of 26 Pine Crest Drive, and three other people in the car were pulled over on County Road at Belton Drive at 2:22 am. Checks by the patrol officer with the criminal database on all the occupants came up with the arrest warrant for Dellefemine, who failed to appear in court for a charge of disorderly conduct…

E.P. Man Driving Car With Flat Tire Faces DUI

An East Providence man was arrested by Barrington police early last Friday morning for driving drunk in a car with a flat tire.

An East Providence man driving a car with a flat tire early last Friday morning, March 1, has been charged with drunk driving by Barrington police after several patrol officers responded to a citizen complaint. Zackery S. Luis, 22, of 15 Hobson Ave., was arrested at around 3 am near New Meadow Road and Crossways in Barrington. The caller told police he heard several people talking outside his home about who was capable of driving home, according to the police report. Two patrol officers located the vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, a few minutes after receiving the call. The vehicle was described as "rolling slowly" south on New Meadow Road. E.P. Teen Charged After Early-Morning Cruise

Two East Providence boys, 17, are pulled over in Barrington early Saturday morning; the traffic stop leads to marijuana possession charge.

Teens cruising around Barrington early in the morning always tend to catch the eyes of patrol officers on the overnight shift.  Two East Providence boys, both 17, didn’t escape that attention last weekend. One of the boys, who lives in Riverside, now faces a marijuana possession charge.  A patrol officer spotted a 2004 Hyundai Elantra driving on County Road in Barrington about 2:12 am on Saturday, Feb. 23. He noticed a license-plate light was not working.  The officer pulled over the vehicle near Newport Creamery on County Road. As he approached the rolled-down window of the car, the officer smelled the distinct odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the arrest report.  A search of the boys and the vehicle found a …

E.P. Man, 22, Faces DUI Charge

Barrington police pulled him over on County Road for speeding early Sunday morning.

An East Providence man, 22, faces a drunk-driving charge after Barrington police pulled him over early Sunday morning, Dec. 9, for speeding. Justin J. Bravo, of 371 Dodge St., Riverside, was traveling north at 1:45 am on County Road, according to Barrington Police Chief John LaCross. He was pulled over by a cruiser who spotted his vehicle traveling 50 mph in a 35-mph zone, LaCross said. Patrol Officer Joshua Melo recognized several signs that Bravo had been drinking after he approached Bravo, LaCross said, including slurred speech. Bravo then failed a field sobriety test. Bravo was taken to the police station and arraigned by a justice of the peace. He faces a DUI charge and refused to take the Breathalyzer test, LaCross said. Bravo was …

Citizens Help Corral E.P. DUI

An East Providence man faces DUI charges after three citizens helped Barrington police officers last Friday afternoon, Dec. 7.

A Riverside man, 51, was charged with drunk driving in Barrington last Friday, Dec. 7, after the Porsche he was driving hit a car in a bank parking lot. Several citizens helped make the arrest. William J. Foxley, 51, of 16 Glen St., East Providence, was charged with a DUI after a caller told Barrington police that his Porsche was swerving all over County Road (Route 114) near Federal Road in Barrington while driving very slowly at about 2 pm. Another citizen then blocked in Foxley’s car in the Bank of America parking lot in Barrington so it couldn’t leave after it struck a vehicle there. E.P. Man, 61, Charged With DUI

Barrington patrol officers pull over an East Providence man early Friday morning, Nov. 2, and charge him with drunk driving.

An East Providence man, 61, has been charged by Barrington police with driving drunk early Friday morning, Nov. 2. Dennis M. Hurley, of 591 Willett Ave., faces charges of DUI first offense and refusing to submit to a chemical test. He was traveling north on County Road at about 3:25 am when he was pulled over at Congress Road. Hurley’s vehicle was reportedly observed first near Walker Farm Lane “floating over the fog line,” said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross. A patrol officer began following his vehicle and observed it swerving again over the double-yellow and fog lines on County Road, LaCross said. Barrington Man Charged With Theft of Oxycodone, Kidnapping of Pharmacist

The Metropolitan Park Drive man, 27, allegedly stole oxycodone from the Rite Aid pharmacy in Riverside using a syringe as a weapon on Sunday afternoon Oct. 21.

A Barrington man, 27, faces robbery, kidnapping and felony assault charges after he allegedly stole a bottle of oxycodone from a Riverside pharmacy on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 21. Joel E. LaFrance, of 129 Metropolitan Park Drive, allegedly entered the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Willett Avenue around 3:55 pm, according to Barrington Police Chief John LaCross and East Providence Det. Capt. Richard Frazier. LaFrance reportedly forced a pharmacist into a back room using a hypodermic syringe as a weapon, the officers said. LaFrance also reportedly threatened a customer with the syringe, said Frazier. Other details of what happened inside the store were not immediately available.
