AG Offers Black Friday Survival Tips

Do your research, ask questions before making a purchase to avoid hidden fees and unauthorized charges.

Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, is quickly approaching and shoppers everywhere will be looking for the perfect holiday gift at a great price. And, retailers will try to out-do each other with deals to lure cost-conscious shoppers who are still watching their wallets. RI Attorney General Peter F. Black Friday Means 'Coat Exchanges'

In Rhode Island, winter coat exchanges have sprung up in numerous locations as part of an anti-shopping option to Black Friday called Buy Nothing Day.

Black Friday in Rhode Island also means coat exchanges. You can drop off a coat. You can pick one up. It's part of a counter-shopping day on Black Friday known as Buy Nothing Day. There are several spots in nearby Providence and in the East Bay to make the exchange, including Breed Hall -- the Senior Center -- at 610 Waterman Ave. in East Providence.
