Tree Lighting Draws Scores to Carousel

The Carousel Commission hosts the 6th annual tree-lighting ceremony at the Crescent Park Carousel on Sunday, Nov. 25.

Hundreds of East Providence residents of all ages continued a relatively new Thanksgiving tradition on Sunday, Nov. 25. They headed on down to the Crescent Park Carousel for the 6th annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony. It put a wrap on Thanksgiving weekend 2012. Santa Claus took photos with children and their families. The Carousel Commission sold hot chocolate and goodies to raise money for the continued improvement of the Loof Carousel. The Chorus of East Providence sang several songs. And, of course, Santa ended the event by lighting a tree just outside the carousel.
