The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Scholarship Committee announced its 2013 scholarship recipients last week. Each will receive $1,000. The scholarship recipients: The scholarships are awarded to the local students who best "exemplify the criteria of service, leadership, and academic achievement," said Rotary member Helen Siravo, vice president and branch manager for Coastway Community Bank in East Providence. Each student will receive their scholarship on May 6 at a ceremony at Chello’s restaurant in East Providence.
The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club awards $1,000 scholarships each year to four students in E.P. and Seekonk.

The East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club has announced the deadline for its annual scholarship program for 2013. The date for applications is March 13. Each year, the Rotary Club awards $1,000 scholarships four graduating seniors from East Providence High School, East Providence Career & Technical Center, Saint Mary’s Bay View Academy and Seekonk High School. “The purpose of the scholarship is to reward a local high school student who best exemplifies the criteria of service, leadership and academic achievement,” said Jeanine Achin, 2012-13 president of the East Providence/Seekonk Rotary Club. “Consideration is also given to need, and applicants must be a resident of East Providence or Seekonk.” Interested students should obtain the …
