Deadline to Vote on Facebook Privacy Changes Ends Monday

Facebook users have seven days to vote for or against new site governance and privacy policy changes.

  You only have a few more days to vote on proposed privacy changes on Facebook. The social-media site has opened up polls for users to vote on a number of policy updates to the site's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and Data Use Policy. Among those changes would be the abolition of users option to vote on changes in favor of a question-submission and webcasts. Voting opened Tuesday and will end on Monday, Dec. 10. Thirty percent of Facebook's population would need to vote against the changes to stop them from passing. The poll closes at 3 p.m. on Dec. 10. So what changes are being proposed? You Know You're from East Providence When …

The Facebook group of East Providence memories continues to grow in number.

Did you ever buy a cheese slice from Athens Pizza? Did you go to the Pumpkin Patch on Warren Avenue for penny candy? Did you ice skate at the Dudley Richards rink in the winter? The "You know you're from East Providence when…" group on Facebook boasts 1,519 members and 379 posts as of Thursday afternoon. With more and more adults joining the Facebook realm, the group – originally started in 2008 – continues to grow. Current and former Townies alike have reconnected as they discuss topics such as Crescent Park rides and the transformation of Brooks to Rite-Aid.
