E.P. Church to Install New Pastor
The Rev. Cleo Darcia Graham -- the first African-American pastor in the RI Conference of the United Church of Christ -- will be installed on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 20, at Hope Congregational Church.
Hope Congregational Church installs a new pastor on Sunday, Jan. 20 -- the first African-American in the Rhode Island Conference of the United Church of Christ. The Rev. Cleo Darcia Graham will be installed beginning at 3 pm, according to the church. "This is truly a historic event in Rhode Island’s history, occurring just one day before the 2013 public holiday for the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.," according to a press release from the church. The Rev. Graham has been a resident of Rhode Island for more than 30 years. She graduated from the Andover Newton Theological School in May of 2012, and received special recognition for her outstanding scholastic achievement in Christian education. The Rev.
