Pro BMX Rider Tries to Save Sports Programs

Kevin Robinson hopes to raise the $106,000 needed to fund the programs during the second-annual K-Rob Family Fun Festival scheduled for May 20 at Pierce Field.

After news hit of the budget commission's decision to shut down middle school sports, pro BMX rider Kevin Robinson wouldn't let the programs go down without a fight. Why? Because the East Providence native would like to see his city's sports programs continue on for his nephew and neice who attend Martin Middle School, according to reports from ESPN. And he has Townie Pride. He hopes to raise the $106,000 needed to fund the programs during the second-annual event, the K-Rob Family Fun Festival scheduled for May 20 at Pierce Field. The goal is simple: fund school sports. Fundraising efforts have already begun through the organization's website. Those interested in sponsorships can go here for more info.

Its' not Townie Pride. It's Kevin at his best and how big his heart is for all children in the city not just his own. That is what it's all about. Doing something for other because of your love for it.   more ›
