She was the wife of John S. Silva; she was born in Cape Verde.

  Justa B. Silva, of Grove Avenue, East Providence, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Roger Williams Hospital. She was 77. She was the wife of John S. Silva.  She was born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, a daughter of the late Joao J. and Mey G. (Barros) DeBarros.  Silva worked for the B. A. Ballou Company before retiring.  Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Maria O. DeBarros and Julieta B. Penha both of Riverside; one son, Paulo J. Silva of East Providence; one stepson, Joao A. Lopes of Pawtucket; one brother, Paulo DeBarros of East Providence, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Yoshiko Tachikawa Garcia of East Providence passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8.

  Yoshiko Tachikawa Garcia of Wheldon Avenue, East Providence, passed away at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center on Saturday, Dec. 8. She was 85. Born in Tokyo, she was the daughter of the late Hidejiro and Kimi Tachikawa. She is survived her son Noboru "Bud" Garcia of Riverside, and two sisters, Kimiko Garcia of Rehoboth and Tamako Garcia of Maryland; eight grandchildren and many family members in Tokyo.
