Low-Price Rabies Clinic in E.P. Sunday

Bring your dog and cat to the East Providence public works garage at 60 Commercial Way between 10 am and noon on March 24.

An important reminder if you own a dog or a cat: A low-price rabies clinic will be held tomorrow, March 24, in East Providence. The clinic will run from 10 am to noon at the public works complex at 60 Commercial Way. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. You can get a dog license at the clinic as well. Because of financial hardship, many residents are finding it difficult to cover the cost of a veterinary visit and vaccination for their pet. Rabies vaccinations for all dogs and cats are required by state law.  To help residents comply with the law, the cost for obtaining a rabies vaccination for a dog or cat will be just $10 per animal. A Parade of East Providence Pets Get Their Shots

Residents of East Providence lined up this morning to get their pets vaccinated for rabies, as required by state law.

Residents from around East Providence lined up outside the Department of Public Works building Sunday morning starting around 9 a.m. They brought their cats and dogs to get their rabies vaccination at a price much cheaper than having to take their pet to a veterinarian. This was done to help residents adhere to the state law that every dog and cat must be vaccinated for rabies.
