Two E.P. Men Finally Cash In

A father and son from East Providence who won $40,000 in the Aug. 8 PowerBall® drawing finally cash in their ticket.

  Extra cash can come in handy during the holiday season. Just ask the father and son from East Providence who waited months to cash in a $40,000 PowerBall® PowerPlay® ticket they purchased for the Aug. 8 drawing, according to the Rhode Island Lottery. The men, who were not identified by the Lottery commission, said “they picked their numbers based on their family members' birthdays,” said Melissa Juhnowski of the RI Lottery. “Even after holding on to the winning ticket for a while, they're still not sure what they'll do with the money,” she said. Colbea Enterprises, at 457 Benefit St., Providence, sold the winning ticket to them, which matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number.  The standard payout for that win is $10,000, but the …

E.P. Deli Sells 'Wild Money' Winner

A RI lottery ticket worth more than $100,000 was sold at the Zone Deli in East Providence.

Someone's Friday just got better.  The $102,525 jackpot for Rhode Island’s own progressive jackpot game, "Wild Money," was hit last night.     The ticket was sold at the Zone Deli at 615 Waterman Ave. in East Providence.  The prize has yet to be claimed, according to the RI Lottery. The Wild Money drawings take place three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, live on WPRI-TV at 7:29 pm.   Saturday's estimated Wild Money jackpot is $20,000.
